You think Is T-Mobile's $10 Home-Phone Service Right for You?

It looks like the deal of the decade: T-Mobile USA Inc.'s @Home service offers unlimited North American calling for $10 per month. After a two-city trial, the service is now available nationwide for T-Mobile users with "qualifying" subscriptions. But there are a lot of factors to consider before you sign up. However great it sounds, the service may not be the bargain it appears to be.

To use the service, you must buy a special home router, which costs $49.99 with a two-year service agreement. You'll also have to have a mobile subscription of at least $39.99 per month for a single line or $49.99 per month for a family plan for meditation types. You plug the router into your broadband Internet connection, then plug a landline phone into the router. You can port your existing home-phone number to the new service if you wish to do so.

If you have a lack of sleep about all of this, you can read more about it here.
